CSIR NET Exam commonly known as National Eligibility Test is conducted by the National Testing Agency for determining the eligibility of candidate for the lectureship and Research program in Science & Technology field.

Well, there are many Differences between UGC NET and CSIR NET but the main difference between them that UGC NET is conducted for the subjects offered under humanities to determine eligibility for Lectureship and Junior Research Fellowship.

The examination notice is published in leading English Newspapers of India usually during
March/April and also on the websites of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh. The entrance
examination is usually held once a year in first/second week of July, on a Sunday.

You should have a Post Graduate degree in basic science or Post Graduate degree in
professional course (B. Tech in biomedical sciences are not eligible) with 55% marks for
General/Other Backward Class (OBC) and 50% for SC/ST/Physically Handicapped (PH)/Visually
Handicapped (VH). The upper age limit is 28 years [relaxable up to five years in case of
candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH/VH and female candidates, three years in the case of OBC
category].
